Went here full of high hopes. They did a friend of mine beautifully. All I asked was that they leave length in the back so I could put it up. They did not. The whole thing was cut to chin length. I also had a consult about color because my hair is graying and needs some brightening. The stylist actually said I shouldn't do anything to the color which was so disappointing. I felt like since I was older I shouldn't care about looking better.

I made an appointment to get my haircut, because I have gone to Visual Effects before and have liked my experience.
I made an appointment with someone different, her name is Micah McCowan. I chose her because I thought her price was reasonable of advertising $40.00, for a cut and blow dry. After she was done, I got charged $60.00. I brought the price to her attention and she told me she charged more because my hair was thick, coarse and curly.
She shouldn't advertise for a certain price and then change it. I think she needs to be upfront if she plans on charging more than $40.00, because of certain hair type.
What is this, discrimination on hair types?
I won't be going back and they lost a customer.

I was so lucky to find jill tovar after moving to boise almost ten years ago. It had been coincidence that i had met two different women on two different occasions whose hair i thought looked dynamite and when i asked them who they went to, they both said jill. You don’t often run into something like that. She’s taken my brown frizzy hair and restored it to shiny smoothness, and always wonderful cuts and color. I sit down and when she asks what i want done, i leave it up to her. She’s an artist It’s no wonder prominent hair stylists ask her to to showcase across the country with them every year. she has developed an expertise i think is unmatched in the greater boise area

Pamela does wonders! I am always very pleased at her work! She does my hair and my girls. I strongly recommend her. The place is clean and it's comfortable. I will go here to her every time for as long as possible

So I have been going to this stylist who has a station at visual affects for several years. She is very good at her job. I was shocked when I went to make an appointment and she told me in a nice way to go find a different stylist. Unsure of the reason, she won't say. The only bad interaction we have had has been that my daughter did not like a hair coloring she did. Neither here nor there, that had nothing to do with me. I'm a nurse who doesn't get a lot of time off and I hadn't been able to get in for months. I finally get a break and she tells me go find someone else, no notice. In my opinion not very professional behavior.

This was my first appointment at Visual Effect Salon and Spa. I had a massage with Deanne. She did a fantastic job and I am looking forward to another one soon! The Salon is very clean, has upscale décor and the overall ambiance is delightful. I was impressed with the wide variety of services that they have to offer which include hair, nail, spa, teeth whitening, laser treatments, micro-needling, and permanent makeup. The owner, Rachelle Moore, is excellent in micro-needling and permanent make up. She offers a course in Permanent Cosmetic Training and Certification. The product line is phenomenal.
