I was in town visiting my mom, and needed a last minute haircut after I missed my appointment with my regular lady. Thankfully Aundrea was able to squeeze me in on short notice. Haircut and blowout look great! I'm very happy with it.

As a salon owner I am extra choosy when it comes to trusting someone with my hair. I visit Santa Barbara all the time but it's been years since I had a trusted stylist here. Sima is an absolute genius and if I could I'd whisk her back to Nashville with me! She so expertly developed a plan for both cut and color that she knew would fit my style, face shape, lifestyle, and profession and I couldn't be happier. There's nothing like the confidence that comes from great hair and I am so thankful to have found this gem. I will be back as soon as I can!

I rarely write reviews, but I have to share my awesome haircut experience with Sima. Let me start by saying that I'm a 27 year old man and moved to Santa Barbara last year. I've been struggling to find a haircut facility/artist that could cut my hair the way I wanted. I tried a couple of barber shops and salons prior to this one, but was never truly satisfied until I now.

Sima was awesome from the moment I stepped through the door. She offered me coffee and listened to my requests while providing feedback. She asked lots of questions and made sure she fully understood what I wanted. As she was cutting my hair, she explained what she was doing and the effects of each cutting tool and technique she was using. After the haircut, we finished up with a shampoo, head massage, and a styling. One of the best haircuts I've gotten in a long time. I will be making her my exclusive stylist in Santa Barbara. I paid $50 + tip and it was worth every penny.

I attempted to reach the salon several times to reschedule my appointment, but my calls went unanswered. Despite leaving multiple messages with my phone number, there was no response. This experience has been quite disappointing.

I found this place going through online reviews and I am glad I chose Underground Hair Artists. My stylist was Sima and she was amazing, kind and patient with me. She did a great job both cutting and coloring my hair. She took time consulting and discussing to better understand what I wanted and delivered it. I got a layered haircut and then blue/purple balyage... Defintely recommend this place!

I didn't "hate" it, but I sure do have the worst cut I've ever had.

The salon has great ambiance. Front desk staff were 50/50 - one was pretty disinterested and rude. The other was nice and helpful. But ultimately the true test is the cut.

I chose a senior stylist, Sonia, because i was hosting a large event the next day and wanted a solid cut. I was unimpressed with her communication. She spent little time getting to know what I was requesting and ended up taking off a lot more hair than I was comfortable with - or had asked for. She kept repeating "your hair is too healthy, it just won't fall nicely". Not words you want to hear from your senior stylist.

I gave it a week because I know sometimes change can take some time to figure it out.

I gave it two weeks...just to see if I would come around.

I still think its the most unflattering cut I've ever had. Getting a really bad cut can be a lot of emotional stress. Dear Sonya, please remember this when working with your new clients. You have an impact on their well-being.

Won't return. Won't recommend.

Amazing! The only salon and stylists that exceeded my expectations everytime! Everyone is so friendly and exceptional cosmetologists. They listen to my desired look, ask questions, make great suggestions and spend the time to ensure that desired look will be achieved or surpassed!

The Underground is excellent. It's comfortable, has great music and everyone is friendly and helpful. Fay does a great job on my hair, and I frequently get compliments after a visit. On top of that, you can't beat the scalp massage during the hair wash, it wipes out any stress from my day.
