First and last time.

I had a service here today for just a haircut, blowout, and styling. I did not book the service as it was suppose to be a gift for a special occasion from my mother. I was quite excited as I typically only get a blunt cuts from other salons.

Upon arriving you are not greeted by a single person and are expected to sign in through an ipad (even though plenty of associates are standing around) Then meeting my stylist (Carmella, which I found out after my service) did not introduce herself and simply made me follow her throughout. “What do you want” - not something that makes clients feel comfortable, she was preoccupied with other associates there than her own client. I felt extremely uncomfortable by the unprofessional demeanor and attitude of my stylist. She was telling me what I needed and did not let me give any input on what I wanted. My haircut was fine, but definitely shorter than I anticipated (a concern another reviewer has mentioned) since I was given an attitude the entire time. She only actually spoke to me after we were walking to check out in which she wanted to sell products.

After my appointment and checking out I then come to find out my service had styling which I never received but was charged the additional $20. I had to walk back and then speak with a manager in which no condolences for the inconvenience were provided. I would avoid this specific location at all costs.

For context: I got my hair color (foliage) done on January 25, one day before I had to leave for India. I returned a week ago, which is why I am writing this review late. I went in hoping to get at least the color I wanted.

Literally the first and last time I’m going here!!!

When my stylist, Alex, asked me what I wanted to do, I told her that I didn’t want the gold highlights in my hair anymore and that I wanted a mocha brown color. I repeated a couple of times that I didn’t like the gold highlights.

After the coloring process, I went to blow-dry my hair and was immediately disappointed with the color. It was too blonde and lighter than I wanted. I told her it was too light and that I wanted to tone it down. She offered to fix it right then and there. I didn’t want to cause trouble (it was already 6 pm and all the other stylists had left as the salon was closing), so I said I could come back the next day, but she insisted on doing it then.

After applying the toner, she shampooed my hair twice but didn’t condition it afterward (perhaps because we were literally the last clients in the salon). While the color was slightly better after toning, but it wasn’t the color I wanted. Also, the strong smell of the color or toner made me suspect she hadn’t washed my hair properly. The next morning, when I washed my hair, I could literally see the color rinsing out. I washed it at least two or three times and by washing it literally went back to the initial blonde color she did.

This is not the level of service I expected from a salon like this. It is beyond frustrating and upsetting to me that I paid over $200 plus a tip (my sister gave the tip without asking me) for a hair color I didn’t even like, and that she didn’t wash my hair properly.

After almost 10 years I decided to part ways with my stylist. I’ve long been disappointed in the service provided by this Tricoci location but my specific stylist was fantastic. He was the only one that knew how to properly shampoo my hair. Then he was running very behind and was not able to shampoo me. They pulled someone who was sweeping off the floor to shampoo me. And when I say I don’t think this person had ever shampooed anyone in her life I mean it. Not only did she miss the entire middle of the back of my head, her own hair was a mess. I have a very specific hair type and will not apologize for choosing stylists that are known to be able to work with my type of hair. Tricoci is not some modern be who you are, jump out of bed and come to work type of salon. But this person looked exactly like they had jumped out of bed and come to work. This is a salon that pretends to be upscale and they certainly charge like they are upscale.

One of the only reasons I still went to Tricoci for so long was because my stylist always shampooed me. But after that experience I never went back. I did tell him that I was disappointed in the shampoo experience and that my hair didn’t feel clean. Absolutely nothing was done about it. I left and had to shampoo my hair again as soon as I got home. A complete waste of a salon trip.

They treat the salon like an assembly line. I may try another location in time but definitely not anytime soon.

Got a hair cut done here. Loved the salon and the hair cut. Definitely upscale!

The hair cut was $50, but worth every penny. They also gave me a first time visitor so young plus a shampoo and conditioner as a gift. The hairdresser, Myra was friendly and skilled.

Have tried this salon twice and now both times have been terrible experiences. Both “stylist” I showed pictures and was explicit what I wanted yet somehow left with the complete wrong style and length. For the price you can find better elsewhere. Do Not Book: Taylor specifically. Not friendly nor seems to know what 3 inches is. Seems to think it equals to over 5 inches.

I come here all the time for nail care and pedicure but I don't get a haircut as often as I should. The last time I got a haircut was last year around the same time but my appointment was delayed so much that I opted to have my hair just styled because I have an event and I was going to be late so I just had my hair styled without the haircut.

Once again I'm here to get a haircut the day before the event. I arrive at 1055 for an 1115 appointment and it's 1145 and I am still waiting and writing this as I wait. I am so beyond frustrated and upset. Now they are telling me that my appointment that was made weeks ago was not in the system and this after checking in 2x to make sure. This is really crazy and I'm so angry and hangry.

The manager was called to speak to me and told me that my stylist is willing to stay until later at 5 pm to do my hair like it's a favor. Mind you I work everyday and this is the only day I'm able to do this and do errands, and while I was walking out and checking with the front desk just to confirm that I did check in with her (now she's stammering and implying that the check in glitch was somehow not their fault) and the manager now offers me a12:30 appointment. This is already 12:00 p.m. and I am upset and hungry because I'm supposed to be almost done with my appointment that was for 11.15 a.m. I told him I'm going to go walk out to have something to eat. And that they should call me when the new stylist is ready. It's currently 12:32 p.m. and they just called me telling me that my supposedly 12:30 stylist is wrapping up and will be ready for me.

Update: Although you may think that the problem was "addressed" this experience has left a very bad impression on me because of the way the first manager tried to handle the situation. Before I left a second manager spoke to me and I figured out that I was actually properly checked in but the person calling people in somehow didn't do it well enough that everything just got passed on. Because of this I'm not sure I'm going to come back anytime soon. It's too bad because I do like the people who does the services.
