Jessie is highly qualified hair artist. She provided a look for me that is trendy, fresh and seasonal. While educating me on proper hair care, she also guided me during my visit when I was unsure about what style and look was best for me. I felt she was attentive and considerate. I am very pleased with the outcome; received a modern highlight, fun layered cut, a necessary hair treatment and style. I felt her prices were reasonable for the care and services I received.

I booked two appointments a month in advance for a mother daughter day. My daughter wanted an undercut and a bob and mine was for a short stacked bob. The hairdresser was fairly new and I had never seen her before. When arriving 10 minutes early she asked who was having a blow dry and I was confused and said I wanted both of us to have them since it was a special day and I thought that’s what I booked when I had made the appointment in advance and she said well she had other appointments that day and now would only have time for one. She did end up having time to do both our blow dries and she was very polite and friendly however, my daughter’s hair came out very crooked which I didn’t notice at the time because I had a very bad migraine and I couldn’t see properly. My haircut was supposed to be stacked Bob but turned out to be an uneven straight Bob on one side of my head and I don’t know what she did to the other side of my head, but I had all different layers and lengths going on on the other side. Besides looking like two completely different haircuts both equally bad . I also had strands of hair that were a couple inches longer than the rest of my haircut that my daughter had to cut for me when we got home. I’m also not sure what was done to the back of my hair as it looked absolutely nothing like the photos I initially showed her. It’s my fault for not saying anything during the appointment but my headache was so bad. I could not see very well. Also while shaving the back of my neck hairs with clippers she slipped and I felt the clipper go up the side of my face almost to my eye. This hairdresser never mentioned anything or said oops sorry or anything of the above and all I could think of was, I hope I don’t wind up with facial hair growing on the side of my face now that it’s been shaved with a clipper. When we got home, my daughter showed me that I had a triangle on the side of my head cut out, which was exactly where the clippers slipped and shaved my face. Therefore, I also had a triangular chunk taken out of one side of my head. This was a complete disaster and nothing like the photos I asked for. Both haircuts came to $90 and I left a $20 tip when I gave it to her she looked a little surprised and confused and I wasn’t sure why but I’m guessing now that it was because of the awful job she did. my husband told me I should call the salon and ask for them to fix it, but my hair was so short at this point I did not want to end up bald. Three days later, we made an appointment at another hair salon for the cost of $115 not including the tip. Way way too expensive for two simple haircuts that took two separate appointments at two different places for the total cost of over $200 . Thankfully, they were able to fix our hair with the little amount we had left at the other salon. And I will not be returning to this salon ever again.
Save your hair and your money. It might be better to pay a little extra elsewhere and not have to pay to get it done twice.
I am including three pictures. The first picture is the picture I showed them at the salon which I asked if they were capable of giving me this haircut (and they were adamant they could) and the second two pictures is what they actually did which looks nothing like the first picture I asked for.

I have been seeing the girls at The Strand for several years now. Everyone there is extremely talented and educated in their craft. I have gotten nearly every hair color and style done including for Proms and events, I have yet to be disappointed. If there ever are any issues or changes needed to be made, they are very understanding and willing to help. Definitely recommend this to family and friends!

I’ve been going to Danielle for years for cuts and color. Everyone in the salon is always very friendly and outgoing. Danielle always does a phenomenal job on my hair no matter what i ask for. We transitioned from very dark to mostly blonde and she made the transition smooth while keeping my hair healthy. I’m constantly getting compliments on my hair and I’ve never left the salon unhappy. I highly recommend both the salon and Danielle!

I have been going to the strand for over a year now and i have loved every visit! my stylist is Danielle and she always does a perfect job and is very accommodating to what ever request i may have. every stylist is so welcoming and it is a very positive environment! every time someone asks about a good salon around i will always tell them to go to the strand!

Yesterday was my first visit to The Strand for a cut and blow dry with Rachel, who was so welcoming. I was so impressed with the way she took the time to find out what style I was looking for, and then talked about the ways we could make that happen and still be manageable for me.
I felt pampered and so relaxed as Rachel did her magic, while showing me lots of tricks for dealing with my hair type.
I left the salon feeling refreshed and good about how I looked, and made sure to book another appointment. Thanks Rachel!!
