The Glam Beauty Bar is a dream come true for me. This is a very professional organized and extremely clean salon for all types of hair. I have been going to this salon for eight months. Valerie has been taking excellent care of my natural hair. My hair is growing and very healthy. Marquita provided my last service because Valerie was not availabe. Needles to say I was very pleased. Another great thing about this salon they provide eyelash service. If you are looking for a great salon experience this is the one.

This shop is excellent! For most styling services hair washing is included (which is HUGE), such as box braids or getting your hair braided down for extensions of any kind. They also include natural color hair into the braid price so you do not have to purchase your own. They are professional with the experience to match and the prices are FAIR! If you need a go to stylist and you remember the days when the beautician had growing hands and did not up charge you, then this is your one stop shop. Try them out, you will not be disappointed.

Ray is absolutely amazing!!! When I tell you I am IN LOVE with my hair! He perfectly installed a versatile sew in plus matched the bundles with my natural hair to a T. I will definitely be back. It’s refreshing to find a professional stylist who cares about the health and integrity of your hair. The owner is an absolute doll as well. You’ve got a repeat customer here!!

I'm beyond satisfied with the service I received from Marquita today! Normally, I'm very comprehensive about people doing my hair and especially trimming my ends. But I decided to give this place a try and I'm glad I did. I actually allowed her to do what style she wanted because of the comfortabilty I felt and how knowledgeable she was about my hair needs. Thank you for your services Glam Beauty Bar! Though my review is not a great one, the lady who did my hair was kind, patient, and easy to work with. I went in for a shampoo, deep condition, blow dry and trim. It went well at first, but once I sat in the chair to have my hair blow dried things changed. I found two things both troubling and disturbing. I’m not clear on the method used, but she had me turned away from the mirror the entire time, I’ve never experienced that, it made me think she didn’t want me to see what she was doing; not a great feeling.

Secondly, I have completely natural hair, root to tip. I’ve been blow drying and/or having my hair blow dried for years, so I was utterly dismayed when she started blow drying my kinky natural hair with a round brush, and blow dryer, with no detangling to boot. It felt like my hair was being torn out of my head. It was hard to understand how a black salon would offer a blow dry service without a dryer with a comb attachment. When she finished, my hair was stiff and sticking up all over my head, I’ve NEVER experienced anything like that and my hair has never looked that way after a blow dry, ever! I thought about asking if I could run home quickly and grab my blow dryer; I was literally praying for my hair throughout the ordeal. I recently took my braids out and I’m afraid of what I’ll find.

Natural hair is super delicate, so it’s probably best that I stick to doing it myself. Unfortunately, this experience helped me make the semi-permanent decision to stop going to the salon all together. Thank you again, much success to Glam Beauty Bar.

She also promotes in keeping your hair healthy. She gave me a healthy treatment and it felt amazing on my scalp. I strongly encourage you to visit the Glam Beauty Bar. First, I want to start off by saying thank you. The salon is beautiful, clean, and everyone is always so pleasant. I love the way my hair feels after coming to The Glam Beauty Bar and it felt the same this time around. Valerie is AWESOME. She’s got a great eye for detail and a cheerful attitude. I definitely am happy to have Glam Bar in my neighborhood!

The salon is very clean and I was impressed with my first visit and hairstyle done by Valerie; however, the second visit was a disappointment. I made an appointment online for extension removal and tried selecting wash and style option, but the system wouldn’t allow. I then called and left Valerie a message letting her know that I was interested in a wash and style in addition to the removal of hair extensions. I also asked her if I would need to reschedule. She never responded. So, I arrived to my 6:30 appointment, early. She was working on another client and didn’t get to me until around 7:20. I didn’t have a problem with that. When I sat in her chair I informed her once again that I wanted a wash and style and that I left a message on her voicemail. She quietly stated, “ok.” After removing the extensions, she washed my hair. After rinsing my hair, she sat me in her chair again and began blow drying my hair. I thought this was odd because I thought by her being a hairdresser that she would deep condition my hair, especially after having the extensions in my hair. Instead, after blow drying my hair, she put it in a ponytail. I then asked her if she could style my hair. She responded in a quiet, harsh tone, “No ma’am. I don’t have time.” So after paying and tipping her, I left out of the salon very embarrassed with how my hair looked. When I got home, I noticed my hair was thin and appeared shorter in some spots. I don’t know if that’s why she didn’t want to style my hair; however, I did research that one of the cons of wearing weaves is that your hair will thin. To that end, I was gonna allow her to treat my hair. I am disappointed that after she saw the condition of my hair she could’ve at least offered to treat my hair or give me hair care suggestions. I will never return to this salon. I am now going to someone who cares enough to treat my hair.
