I am a recent Dekalb resident from Wisconsin and as a consequence I had to leave my go to hairstylist behind. I tried many salons in IL, but was not satisfied time and time again. I decided to give this salon a chance and when I made the appointment I had the receptionist choose a stylist at random, and it was the best choice ever.
Katie is an amazing hairstylist, I showed her a photo of what I wanted and she immediately conveyed her expertise to me of how I could enhance that look and showed much interest in what I wanted, such as level of volume, length, etc. I expressed that I would like to keep my length but to definitely get rid of any damaged hair if necessary. I can honestly say I did not leave the salon feeling bald like I usually do with other salons, I left feeling like I had more hair than before that looked very healthy.
Katie is also extremely nice and easygoing, she really made the experience a positive one! I strongly recommend Katie to every person who wishes to have their confidence boosted by engaging in the self-care offered by Studio One Salon.

This review is long overdue. I have been seeing Leah as a massage therapist for over a year now. I have been to quite a few massage therapists over the years and Leah is by far the best I’ve seen. I always have some sort of issue going on with my body as I try to stay active and she always asks how I’m feeling, takes notes then asks if there was anything I didn’t like afterwards. Though I’ve never mentioned a dislike of any sort I just need to mention she is the only therapist that asks this, which leads me to believe she is always trying to improve. I just saw her yesterday for some nagging pain in my sacrum and low back and feel 100% better today. I’d give her 10 stars if I could.

Leah is now my immediate referral for any massage needs! I’m a person that knows they need massage work done regularly, however the anxiety of meeting a new person and having them touch you is reasonably uncomfortable for anybody… Leah made that entire process shockingly simple and comfortable! She starts by not just gaining a full understanding of your body’s trauma; she goes above and beyond by putting it into terms that are very easy to understand. After the assessment, Leah backed up her words with her work that felt intentional and confident.. I really appreciated her honesty with what I could expect that day, and her future recommendations. If I had to identify an opportunity for my experience, I guess I would say I wish she had more availability! That being said, you can’t be mad at a girl for being in demand! Thanks so much Leah & S1 team 💕

PS: if she tells you to get a foam roller get it that day!!!! My only mistake

I’ve been going to Studio One for almost ten years now and I have to say that I’ve had a wonderful experience. The staff is very loving and friendly and do their best to work around your schedule. I’ve gotten almost every service from my hair cut and colored to makeup for a wedding, waxing, facials, messages you name it and the experience has always been very satisfying and relaxing. Thank you for such wonderful services and staff you have. Great job on keeping everyone safe during this time to help service your clients!

Everyone at Studio One is very welcome and professional. I go to Studio One for facials. Hannah G is amazing! She tailors facials to my skin issues each time I go and recommends products for me to take home. She's is very knowledgeable and answers any question I have. I always leave there feeling so relaxed and pampered. Thank you Hannah!

I'm giving this Salon 4 stars ONLY for it's SPA. The Hair Salon is not worth the money. Dolce Vita Hair Salon is significantly better! Don't waste your money here for your hair. Seriously I could show you pictures on how they butchered my dye job but I won't be that petty. I did demand a refund so I could go have my hair fixed properly and they complied.

BUT...the SPA is absolutely amazing! If you really want the spa experience, want to be pampered, get amazing spa treatments etc. this is for sure the place to go. I see Hannah for facials and I would highly recommend her. She takes great care with your skin, works up to the minute (I have been places where massage therapists stop early, you don't get a full hour) she does an amazing job on brows as well!

Very friendly and accommodating staff! Went in for a pedicure, scheduled last minute this morning, and had Mackenzie. She was great! My nails look amazing and she was very detailed but quick which is exactly what I was looking for today. Will definitely be going back!
