I cannot say enough great things about Second Nature Salon in Lake Zurich! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism. The ambiance is chic yet welcoming, creating the perfect environment for relaxation.

The stylists are truly experts in their craft. They took the time to listen to what I wanted, offered insightful suggestions, and executed everything flawlessly. My hair has never looked or felt better! The quality of the products they use is top-notch, and it’s clear they prioritize the health of their clients’ hair.

The entire experience, from the consultation to the finishing touches, was seamless and enjoyable. Everyone on the team is friendly, attentive, and passionate about what they do. I left feeling refreshed, confident, and already looking forward to my next appointment.

I’m not sure why I was talked to with such disrespect by the owner. I had a consultation with one of the hairstylists and we scheduled an appointment to move forward. The appointment that was scheduled was made for a Saturday in which we confirmed over the phone and in person. The stylist said she was going to follow up with me about using my extensions that I had from another salon. When she followed up with me she told me it would cost $400 to use them. I asked why? It’s typically $20 a weft and I have less than 20’wefts. She said this is what the owner said. I said I’m happy to speak directly to the owner to explain that I have newly purchased hair from another salon but am going forward with your salon and in the future can purchase new hair but can you please use what I have now. She said she will speak with the owner again and follow up with me instead of the owner just contacting me. Which made no sense. Then when I called back a few weeks later, one of the managers at the front desk said she will put in a note for one of them to give me a call. Neither of them called me. She says, well you are coming in Saturday anyways so we can chat then. I said I just don’t know if I need to be looking for someone who won’t charge me a flat fee of $400 dollars to use my extensions. She goes no no that’s not right. We of course can use them. I go, I was just told different information and then never followed up with. Then I received a text “confirming” my appointment but the text said for Friday and not Saturday. I would have never agreed to Friday because my husband works and needs to watch our daughter. So it was always for Saturday. When I called the salon to let them know this was an error, a different manager said it was always in the system for Friday. She put me on hold and went to talk with the stylist and they claimed they always said Friday. This is not true. I’m very good about putting dates and times in my calendar. And it was said to me even over the phone that we can discuss more on Saturday. And now I am being lied to. So I said to the manager I don’t know if I can keep this appointment I need to see. And I shared my frustration with miscommunication right and left and I haven’t even started with them yet. The owner was first saying how can we help. I was saying is there a way to speak with the stylist or the other owner about my initial questions. I’m not sure when I can schedule next. And then she told me what the appointment said , extension move up and partial highlight. And I said no we never said extension move up and I wasn’t even told if we can use my extensions. And she started getting snippy with me saying if this isn’t working out you should find another salon. I said I am just wanting clarification is all. I just feel like there has been miscommunication right and left mostly because I’m not speaking directly to the people I need to and not being followed up with. I was just sharing my feelings but still wanting to come to a solution and just move forward, but then she yells at me and says find another salon! And hangs up. I try calling back to let her know I didn’t want there to be a altercation or issue. I was just voicing that there was a lot of different things going on and they never picked up my calls again to even have an opportunity to speak to them and I got a text saying my appointment was canceled. Never have I been mistreated this way or yelled at versus being about to have a solution met for the several discrepancies. I’m very disappointed in the customer service.

Christina always does an amazing job on my daughter’s highlights! She does all of our family’s hair beautifully!! The front office staff is super helpful as well. I highly recommend Second Nature Salon!

Second Nature is the best! I have been getting my hair done here for almost 10 years and everyone is so friendly and accommodating, even throughout many cycles of brunette to blonde and back again 🙂 Paulina does the best job with my hair and always makes sure I’m happy leaving the salon.

I have been going to this wonderful salon for nearly 20 years, and have always had the best haircuts, color and most of all, customer service.
