Front desk is always nice and respectful and ready to help, the rest of the experience is a complete and utter nightmare. I have never been disrespected like I was today. I walked out. And for clarification I was helping my fiance get her hand checked out I was talking to the doctor and helping the doctor get all the information she needed since I was right there at the incident my fiance doesn't like to speak too very many people never have but the doctor very rudely and hatefully spoke to me in a manner I have never been spoken to I walked out never go to this facility they treat you like a dog diagnosis is always wrong they seriously need to look into employees of this facility be warned you will be treated unprofessionally take it from my experience

We are on a road trip in our camper and staying overnight in a nearby campground. My wife has Parkinson’s dementia and had been declining rapidly for a number of days so I decided yesterday to seek help. SBL Walk-in correctly diagnosed the problem as a simmering staph infection that has been previously treated but hadn’t yet resolved. SBL addressed the infection with high potency antibiotics including a rapid acting injection. Today I have my wife back. She is lucid, coherent, smiling and getting around unassisted. I could not be more pleased.

The gentleman who checked me in was very nice however the rest of the experience was like being treated by a group of Middle School teenage girls. Very rude, zero bedside manner, I can see why many people go to Mattoon clinic or ER. Not confident with the diagnoses, as they treated me as if they just wanted to get me out of there....they definitely do not set your mind at ease as they behave as they have had zero training.

Worst experience I’ve had at any medical clinic. I am a graduate student at the university but live in another state. During winter break I had surgery that required stitches. I was referred to this clinic for removal by SBL Surgical Clinic and when I called this walk in clinic to confirm this was something they could do they said yes. As this is the first time I’ve been to any medical clinic in Charleston I asked if I needed an appointment or any further information before coming in and they stated no. Upon walking into the clinic I waited until my number was called. I explained my situation and the receptionist was extremely rude! She seemed to not want to deal with me as I was an out of state patient. She even raised her voice at me while I was trying to explain my primary provider situation and used a tone that indicated that she thought I was stupid. She repeated multiple time ‘oh my gosh this paperwork is going to take forever you have absolutely nothing on file.’ She was very dismissive and did not seem to care about my situation. They also kept saying that my bill was going to be extremely high without even looking at my insurance. I understand that people have bad days but I felt extremely frustrated by the situation as I was already confused and stressed out. The surgical clinic who referred me to this clinic knew I was from out of state based on the initial referral and said it was something this clinic should be able to do with no problem. Being in a helping field myself I thought this interaction was extremely unprofessional. I ended up leaving without my stitches removed and will not be going to this clinic again.

I sprained my foot back on September 10th and came to the walk in the next day. I couldn't walk, they had no wheelchairs for guests. The doctor I saw appear without a mask to check my foot and then came back after my xray, with a mask on like I was sick. Afterwards was told it was just a sprain and that it'll be gone within 2-3 weeks. They only gave me a wrap and no crutches to help me walk. I was hopping and had to use my boyfriend to walk from and to the car.

I will be going to Carle to get my foot re-looked at because it's been four weeks to five weeks, my foot isn't healed at all.

I suffer from chronic sinus infections, and had to go the urgent care here in Charleston. The PA assisting me didn’t listen to anything I was experiencing. Right away she cut me off and stated that it was probably a cold I caught from my flight. I had mentioned that I had been experiencing symptoms for more than a week. It was even before I took my flight there. She was so rude and unprofessional! You could see that even the staff felt bad for me . Since they wrote a nice note on my bill two weeks after arrived home. If I was asking for oxytocin or fentanyl I could understand her concern but I needed a damn z pack. This facility is awful and I don’t recommend anyone going here to seek help. If you need help literally go anywhere else! You’re gonna be so miserable! The PA is an entitled and should have used her daddy’s money to open a baking shop on the square. Even then I wouldn’t trust her baked goods. The male nurse was the only one who actually sat down and listen to me. Thank you to him at least! I left for my flight home in such sever head pain and a severe cough. All of this could have been avoided if she would have just listen to me!
If you are reading this I’d like an explanation of why she is still there. Get someone who actually wants to work instead of her showing up 30 mins late because she thought she had to work in the next town over! All her staff knew it too so many eye rolls as she walked in on her own time!

I was very disappointed with the customer service today. They told me to take a number. I sat . . . and sat . . . Finally the guy behind the desk yells, “Has everyone been checked in?” I said that I had not, so I went to the desk to “check in” and he asks me, “What are u here for?” I told him that I would speak to the doctor about it. He said, “I have to put something.” I told him that I was in pain. I didn’t really want the whole dang waiting room to know my biz! You could hear a pin drop in the waiting room! They would have definitely heard me blaring out my issue! Now let’s talk about the nurse or CNA that walked me to the vitals room. The entire time she talked to me she had her back to me. It was both weird and rude! I’ve NEVER had that happen before. Now let’s go into the bathroom so I could give a urine sample. I look down while I am peeing and what do I see? A gargantuan ROACH! I was beginning to think I was being punked! The doctor was very nice and professional. No complaints there. SBLHC you need to do better with the Charleston Walk-In Clinic. I’m not saying the people aren’t completely nice. They just need guidance on their people skills. I’m not sure I will go back. I may go to the Mattoon clinic, but that is just sad that I don’t feel comfortable going to the clinic of my home town. I hope someone reads this and takes the initiative to correct some things.
