This establishment is entirely horrible! Rude professionals, the “real” ones, not the students. The students are darling and sweet, but their instructors are simply horrid! I took my granddaughter here for her birthday to get her hair done in time for a winter formal, and the instructor was yelling at the student stylist who was taking care of her— in fact this was how it was for all the students! The students look almost fearful of their instructors. My granddaughter kept trying to step in to defend her stylist, who was very kind. These people should NOT be teachers of the future generation of hair professionals. As someone who was in cosmetology myself I am disgusted by how this “school” is ran. They need new owners or new teachers. I will be looking into contacting any headquarters immediately and advising anyone looking for a cosmetology school to stay clear of this one! Someone has to speak up for those poor students.

I wanted to give a shout out Lucas he did amazing job on my haircut yesterday The service was like VIP I recommend everybody for men to go to him and you will leave the chair happy with the service and he make sure he checked and your haircut and show you before and after how you like it before you leave the chair. And he did use an oil for my hair and it smells so good. Appreciate that appreciate that a lot.

Rae reached out and addressed the issue, she was very kind and understandable. I appreciate it!

I’ve been going here for over 10 years, but for the past maybe 2-3 years or since Carmen left, the instructor during the evening practices poor leadership. It’s a good atmosphere and ladies at the front desk bring good energy and conversation! During my last evening appt, there was a small mistake. I called in the morning and the manager went above my expectations when it wasn’t needed. I appreciate that. Morning team/ weekends are always pretty efficient over the years.

In the evening, I’ve had several issues.
I once had a credit due to an overcharge but the instructor said they got a new system and that was it… no solution or anything. But the biggest thing is a student butchered my hair. Despite being told prior that they can only cut on straighten hair, she cut half of my hair and in its natural state after telling her about my prior bad experience wit a trim and I told her it’s not necessary if it’s not needed and she said my ends were pretty good. I decided to trust her and I heard a snip and addressed it n was told it would be very slight like a dusting (pic below is only half of my hair). I get that they’re students.

But I expected the instructor to address the issue with me or the student. She didn’t do neither. During the correction, I even had to get the instructor to look at the damage. I was too sad to get my hair even out but the student correcting did great and made me feel like I wasn’t tripping. The instructor just gave an “oops expression” and said she’s new (the instructor never checked on us during that time either). I was very upset after seeing the damage so if I spoke that day my energy wasn’t going to be nice. So I paid for half the service.

But I say all this not for the student or to complain about my issues, but for the very poor leadership during wed/ Thur. Morning team is great.

As a recent esthetician graduate of Paul Mitchell The School Esani, I strongly advise against attending this institution. The school’s frequent deletion of negative student reviews raises serious concerns about transparency. If it were possible to give 0 stars, I would.

I was wrongfully suspended by Ms. Tan for checking the time on my phone during class while working on a report on my iPad. This rule was never communicated, and no other instructors had enforced such a policy. Additionally, the administration issued a false write-up claiming I left Zoom early on a day I was on an approved vacation. Despite providing written proof of my leave, the write-up was only dismissed after I challenged it. It became clear that certain staff, particularly Ms. Qiana, targeted me and my classmates for speaking out about the school’s issues, often suspending us without valid reasons.

One particularly troubling incident involved my friend, who was suspended after taking a video of Ms. Qiana chasing her down the hallway following a confrontation. After my friend posted the video on social media, Ms. Qiana retaliated by suspending her. My 2 other classmates were suspended without being given a reason. It was clear that students who voiced concerns about the school were unfairly targeted.

The school operates with unprofessionalism and a lack of consistency, often penalizing students for unclear or uncommunicated rules. For instance, I was written up for being late by 1 minute, and another time for using the bathroom for 15 minutes, even though no such time limit had been shared. These arbitrary policies contribute to a hostile and unsupportive environment.

Furthermore, instructors often neglected their responsibilities, leaving students to track them down for assistance. My time was unjustly taken from me, as administrators Mr. Johnathan and Ms. Qiana clocked me out at the behest of Ms. Rachel. When I tried to address the issue with Ms. Qiana, her response was unnecessarily hostile, refusing to reinstate my hours despite photographic evidence showing my presence in the building.

The facility conditions were equally unacceptable. Bathrooms were unsanitary, with blood-stained toilet paper and dirty towels and floors. Basic supplies and equipment were only updated after repeated complaints and negative reviews.

This school prioritizes punishing students over fostering their success. Many of my peers have shared similar experiences, but their reviews have been removed. I could go on and on about the problems I experienced and all of the students had with this school and the staff. I have videos of how the administrators/ instructors spoke to me and other students, along pictures of the horrible conditions but I fear my review will be deleted if I post them. I strongly recommend researching other institutions before considering this one.

I’ve been to Paul Mitchell schools for cuts probably 6 times before. The previous cut I had done in Jessup, MD was the best cut I’ve ever had! So I thought I’d try out the school in Roswell. Unfortunately, the instructor who helped out this sweet student had no idea what he was doing. He butchered my hair and didn’t listen to what I asked for nor did he pay any mind to the very detailed video I showed him. Please look at the pictures of what I asked for (red head screenshots) and then the absolute massacre of a haircut the instructor told the student to do. Somehow I ended up with a rat’s tail. I paid for the cut because I was afraid of hurting the students feelings. I asked for a refund later when I felt brave enough to tell them how much I hated the hair cut but they didn’t refund me. It was NOT the students fault! it was 100% the instructor who had no idea what I was asking for, didn’t know how to cut curly hair and did not watch the video that I showed him which explicitly showed how to cut my hair. I had to fix my hair myself and cried while doing it.

*UPDATE* Rae who must be some type of manager called me and wants to do everything she can to make it up to me. She’s kind and down-to-earth—a huge asset to that school. Thanks for trying to make my situation more manageable and treating your customers with care and concern!

Have had the best experience here over the past two weeks! Came last Thursday to get highlights and they stayed until closing time to finish my hair. Came back today to get a touch up and a haircut and everyone has been so nice and professional. Jameela, Lala, Rae, and Brianna have been the best team! So happy with my hair!

I booked a 1-hour and 50-minute HydraFacial based on the information provided online on their website , but the service lasted barely 40 minutes. This was disappointing but I have to say that the esthetician was incredibly kind, gentle, very good with her job. She did a great job with the facial itself. Unfortunately, because of the misleading information I won’t be going there again in future.

It amazes how the two white women posted have perfect color below. I’m African American, 4b-4c hair and the school placed me with young lady that had no idea how to do color. The day of my appointment number one they started an hour late. I showed her a picture (she didn’t really want to complete my hair color as requested). She wasn’t asking for guidance after coloring even for which shampoo to use on my hair. She left my hair DRY to the point where I couldn’t receive a straightening. I was almost in tears at that point because, the manager or whoever knew this girl wasn’t capable of doing African American hair. To add insult to injury they gave me 5% off, sent me home with conditioner and wet hair, and said i could visit tomorrow. Now instead of fixing their mistake they were ready to go home. I’ve visited the hair school numerous times however, this is the last I’m truly disappointed. So I’f you’re African American don’t come here because you’ll leave like I did with wet hair and color you didn’t ask for. Below is a picture of exactly how I left the school like a wet puppy with incorrect color.
