Great haircut experience. I walked in & waited about 20 minutes. My barber took my simple instructions, asked a question or two, then jumped right into the cut. She was efficient and professional. I was very happy with the results and the price. Will definitely come back.

Want to drink a beer and get your hair cut at the same time? Well then you have come to the right place. It's just a small service that means a lot to people. As you can see in the pictures, this is a beautifully set up barbershop. Just look at the decor and take a trip down memory lane.
The owner, Dar, and her team there are friendly, professional, and do an amazing job. Walk-in's only. There are always plenty of barbers working. Everyone is having a good time there, and you will get an amazing haircut and customer service experience. They do all different hair cuts, but Dar said the most commonly asked haircut they are asked to do is a bald fade. I personally was able to meet quite a few members of Dar's team, and I sat down and had a great conversation with her also.
So, now you need to go and get yourself one of the best experiences of your life. I promise you won't be disappointed. Just remember that they get busy at times, so there might be a wait. So, be patient because it's worth the wait.

While on vacation in Alaska and in need of a haircut, I stumbled upon Northern Light Barber Shop and decided to give it a try. And I'm glad I did!

Walking in, I was greeted by warm and friendly staff, instantly putting me at ease. What impressed me most was that no appointments were required, perfect for someone like me on the go.

The barber was attentive and took the time to sit down and chat with me about the style I wanted. It was clear that they were committed to delivering exactly what I had in mind. And deliver they did! The end result was a haircut that exceeded my expectations. It's rare to find a barber who can match the precision and skill of my regular shop back home, but Northern Light Barber Shop nailed it.

Overall, my experience at Northern Light Barber Shop was a pleasant surprise. If you're in need of a great haircut without the hassle of appointments, I highly recommend giving them a try.

Word of mouth, and Google reviews, guided me to this barber shop, and this was my first visit. Mandy was the professional stylist who got stuck with me. She did excellent work and provided a casual and light atmosphere to the experience. Mandy cut my hair just as I had requested.

When I arrived, there were four hair stylists working, and each one was busy with a customer. I was a walk-in. I waited less than 10 minutes before it was my turn.

I highly recommend this barber shop.

Walk-in only, everyone was working quickly and didn't wait long despite several people ahead of me. Haircut was ok, I'd say 6/10 which is acceptable for the price. I feel compelled to write a review because my barber was unnecessarily rough with the clippers, repeatedly bumping them against my skull with excessive force. I dismissed it as just annoying at the time, but I was left with a throbbing headache for days after this. I am probably more sensitive to this than the average person because I had a TBI several years ago, but I have been to dozens of barbers since then and have never had an experience like this before.

I haven't been in Alaska long. Being a person of color, it's always hard to find a barber shop that can properly manage my hair. It's always troublesome to find a good barbershop to be your go-to when moving to a new place. Today's trip made it an easy decision. Aaron (apologies if I misspelled your name, brother) did a phenomenal job. I'll be back again, easy.

Fantastic place. Very professional and took extra care while getting a haircut. My wife had her hair cut also and was very pleased. Thumbs up to the staff and we definitely would go there again.
