The owners were so kind and quick to ensure you have everything you need. The hotel is older but has such charm and is beautiful! They have a 1920 era elevator that is still in operation and SO cool!

There is a sitting area on each floor, with a big one on the main floor and all are so elegant and cozy. On the main floor, there is a fireplace, projector screen, and bar (that was closed when I went), and you can hold events there.

Breakfast had a decent mix of options, hot and cold. Being an older building, the bathroom is small, so a large person may feel cramped. There is no counter at the sink, but shelves above the toilet with ample space for your toiletries. I definitely recommend this charming hotel!

We had a wonderful stay! The owners are some of the kindest people I have ever met. Everyone in the hotel was very inviting and helpful. This hotel is very neat and has some unique characteristics. We will definitely stay here again!

We booked the Monte Villa at the last minute (leaving the sand dunes) and it was perfect!! They checked us in at 10pm and we still very kind. It is locally owned and well cared for. Our room was upgraded to a king and queen (we are a family of 4 with two teens) and our room was spacious and comfortable. The best part was the old fashioned main area. This place is much more fun than a chain hotel! I highly recommend.

Amazing stay! Owner showed us around, even thanked is at checkout for being neat and tidy guests! The breakfast is fantastic made by a wonderful lady who brought smiles to our faces each morning!
We will definitely be back!
The hotel is a gem. The great staff takes it over the top for greatness

Very friendly staff, clean room, quiet, comfy. Has old school grandeur. Don’t drive Wolf Creek Pass in the dark or bad conditions. This is a good place to wait them out.

CHARMING ... this Hotel brings you back to the late 1800's with it's old West Charm. Clean and well kept, will all the things you would need in a place to stay. Yes, the rooms are small (like they were in the days), but the fixtures were new in the bathroom, and the bed was very comfortable. Mostly, the person at the desk was extremely friendly and took the time to show us around to the lobby area, the elevator, and to tell us a little about the restaurants in the area. Price? BEST in the area by FAR! Value for the money was excellent!

Very interesting historic hotel -fun old elevator with a gate and haunted but pretty looking public areas with event tables and stained glass. Family owned and they added nice touches like cool modern sinks and nice shower curtains and friendly sayings in the hallways. The room we had 2 queen beds was clean but very small. It would be even better if the could fix up the closed off areas such as the pub. Friendly owners and located centrally in the town not too far from the Sand Dunes park.
