I sought a massage appointment and was offered to come in within the hour. When I explained I couldn't arrive in the short window but could come later - perhaps 4 or 4:30p, Carmen said she was booked up so we landed on 5:30p today. (This took place after calling at 10a & being told the owner would call me back. When she didn’t, I called again around 1:45pand she said she lost track of time and had to take massages after the other therapist called in sick).

After the time for the following day (today) was set, I asked Carmen if more than one hour massages were offered for non-sports massages pointing out the menu online didn't indicate anything longer than an hour for Swedish or Deep Tissue, only a 90 minute hot stone. In doing so, I was informed that "Latin Touch" is a 90 minute massage service for $135 and is a combination of different techniques including “pulling” and stretching. When I asked how much time was spent on the stretching versus massaging and if it was a combination of deep tissue and Swedish, Carmen said it "can be” predominantly massaging if I wanted it to (see photo of 4 min call). Still a bit confused, I agreed to give it a try and after hanging up, I went back to the website in hopes of getting a better description of “Latin Touch” and found none. I even "googled" the term “Latin Touch” in the massage context and came up dry. It’s problematic that the menu doesn't provide a description of the Latin Touch technique and it's listed separately from massages and it's not a universal term. Also, there's nothing to indicate the length of time for the "Latin Touch”.

Fast forward to today at 5:11p ......I'm parked outside with my husband and called in to inquire about possibly allowing my husband to use my 5:30p appointment because he said his neck was bothering him despite getting a massage earlier in the week. If she had said no, I’d go in as planned and he’d come back to get me. When Carmen answered, before I could ask the question, she said I missed my 5pm appointment so she took someone else in my place. When I stated it was actually 5:30p and the reason for the call, she said she had me down at 5p. So much for being early!

If there was an online scheduling site, deposit requirement or email or text confirmation--- this would have assured she wrote down the correct time and I had a record of the agreed upon time. In this instance, as the consumer it’s my loss because there’s nothing to reflect what was scheduled (5:30l) and after traveling there and arriving a few minutes ahead of what I was told was a 5:30p appt, I was blown off and told to come a different day. What’s also puzzling is if the owner was working alone and in an appointment, it’s interesting that she answered the phone to say a walk in was being massaged. The entire experience and exchange was offputting.

I also get the impression the clientele is predominantly and preferably male. The photos linked to the business are primarily that of the owner’s including several close ups and one full body shot in a form fitted dress looking back at the camera.
