Location is convenient, and area around the hotel rooms is very nice and picturesque.

A little costlier than nearby hotels, but it is in a more suburban setting and easy access to get to.

Rooms can use some updating. Furniture seemed old, and patio door was loose enough to let a few bugs get in.

Cooling/heating system was also old. When I turned the heat on, the smoke alarm went off within a few seconds. Staff was friendly and accommodating, offering to give a change of rooms, but unfortunately I was already running late for a wedding and didn't have the time to switch rooms. I agreed an extra blanket would help and they accommodated. Turned out the night got really cold, so it was a little rough going. They noted that they are in the process of replacing the systems with new ones, so that should help as more are replaced.

I really hate to give bad reviews, feel free to look at my track record for validity in this statement. But unfortunately this place is wayyy over priced for the experience we had; the room itself was like a fancy motel 6.

1) it was more expensive and had a website that sold an experience that may have been extravagant in the 90s, when the furnishings were newer, but it's as though it had not been touched since other than being cleaned. Carpet torn in places, doors rusted, lighting very dim, furniture worn- got a picture of some of it

2) the ice machine was broken and then guy Mike who managed the front seemed surprised, even though he surprisingly had a huge camper cooler full of ice (pretty shady sorry dude).

3) we were totally put off when we were told the sauna and hot tubs were separated by gender... So it tells me this place is much more geared to be a retirement facility more than a resort. Probably should be purchased for such a business model

The price alone clearly is meant for the "amenities" rather than the room. I guess celebrating our 6th anniversary trip to Clayton should have been at an Air BNB, which we will not be making that mistake again.

Only positive is the location and sense of security along with peace and quiet.

This resort is advertised as a resort and winery. This was one of the reasons we chose this location for a girls night out. There was no winery! The room had a musty smell, was outdated, and the heat/ac didn't work correctly. Super disappointed.

Beautiful location but the hotel itself is not great. Outdated, old funky odor, squeaky doors, paper thin walls and you could hear kids running all over the upstairs room, bed uncomfortable, big spiders all over the place. We stayed two nights and there was no room service coming in to change towels. Won’t return.

This is an overall positive 3 Star review. The property is beautiful and mostly well maintained. The pool seems to have been redone recently and is very nice. The staff is wonderful (particularly the new GM team running the property). They were helpful, accommodating and extremely friendly. However, the hotel rooms are vintage 1990 "ish" and in dire need of a remodel. They are very clean, but also very dated and tired. Considering the price, it will likely not be acceptable to most. I was informed updates were coming so we'll revisit this down the road. Once updates are completed I would definitely return and even without I might.

Our family stayed here and we fell in love with this place. We enjoyed the hiking to the waterfalls, the spa, the restaurant and bar, the campfire, the indoor and outdoor pool and the beautiful golf course. We had a large party of family members staying there so we used all the amenities. The staff were very kind and personable. We enjoyed looking at their wedding venue also. Our family enjoyed the town of Clayton from the coffee shop, toy store, and the chocolate store. The Rusty Bike was an awesome place to eat breakfast. Our family definitely plans to go back. We all highly recommend this place. Family and dog friendly.
