Emily is one amazing and talented curly hair specialist ,plus color specialist. I was so over my frizzy lack luster hair. My curls were MEH ?
She instructed and tutored me on how to understand my hair and style it. I am so happy, my friends and family are so impressed with Emily’s magic! I wouldn't go anywhere else! I live an hour and a half away and it's well worth my drive. Cathy always listens and does exactly what I ask for. She helped me leave my 80's hair style behind and helped me to understand "how" to curl my hair. I love the products they offer, it has made a huge difference in my hair! The energy in the salon is wonderful, it's super relaxing and Cathy always has a smile on her face. I feel like I'm among friends here. Highly recommend!!

It’s taken me a while to work up the best way to write this review.
As a small business owner myself, I take any kind of review of a business very seriously.
I had a hair cut here almost two summers ago in July of 2021. Since this hair salon was highly marketed as the best for curly hair I was very hopeful in the experience that I would have here. The gal that cut my hair, I can’t remember her name, was younger and was nice and professional to talk to.
I showed her a picture of a haircut that I had previously and said that this was my least favorite way that my hair was styled. I wanted to do something different and fun but only have maybe an inch or two taken off my hair.
The haircut lasted a couple hours, I also got highlights and a demo of how to care for my hair properly using the products they recommended.

The haircut that I received from here was the exact haircut that I said I didn’t want. Several inches were taken off my hair instead of just a trim. After a few days the highlights completely washed out of my hair and I couldn’t see them anymore.

While they are very professional and knowledgeable on their products and information, I received the style of hair that I hated the most on myself.

If you do go here I would be very clear on what you do what your hair to look like instead of what you don’t.

Update: I had a great first experience. Scheduled next appointments to have them rescheduled and then skipped. 2 stars because my color 6 months ago was great but having the stylist skip my next two appointments warrants zero stars.

Cathy cut my very overgrown hair last week and recommended styling products and application advice. My limp, undefined, triangle shaped hair now has defined waves and curls, bounce, and hold! I now will be using less product on my hair as well. The entire experience was wonderful. I highly recommend this salon to any curly girls.

Ok so I am not sure why I never wrote a review but here we go. If you are looking for curly cut this is the place to go, especially if you are a person of color! I have had certified curly cuts on the east coast and also the west coast but Emily has always took the cake! I'm really sad that I moved back to California and honestly do not trust anyone else to cut my hair, she is literally that amazing. She is very knowledgeable about hair and different textures. Honestly I can not say enough good things about this place. They are both very warming and friendly!
