Wow! What a great hideaway! In the middle of farm country Illinois - just a wide spot in the road - this is a wonderful find on my pilgrimage backpacking down US-45. Monica is a most friendly host. Very clean rooms, all new floors & fixtures, with a La-Z-Boy to boot! 👍Big, screened-in, back porch, plus a quaint little bar; all in a quiet little village. Can I just live here?!

My first time hunting in Illinois and what a great experience!. The staff at Hickory Creek are top notch. The rooms are huge and very clean and Mrs Nina made us feel right at home.I could go on forever but I'll cut it short and say this,Mrs Faye is the sweetest, best bartender around hands down! I will be back!

We could not have had better luck to stumble across this location. Our previous plans fell through for lodging and in controlled chaos fashion we were guided here. This would be one of those moments where you don't judge a book by the cover. We were greeted very well by the owner who was super accommodating. We got checked in and were shown to our room. This lodging facility appears to have been a military style or medical style housing facility. They did a great job converting to a single or double occupancy facility. The room was very large and spacious. Present in our room was what appeared to be a California King size bed. The mattress was a little more firm then we were used to but not uncomfortable and slept well. The room was broken up with the shower on one side and the lavatory on the other. Amenities were simple and personable. The bar on site is fully stocked to your pleasure. Food wise your choices are limited in the hotel but the restaurant across the street can fill the void. I appreciate the the friendly conversation and accommodations provided. It will certainly warrant a return visit if and when we are in the area again.

We saw the reviews for this place and stayed here at the last minute while passing through. Our room was huge! The whole place was clean and the owners were extremely accommodating. I was afraid we might be able to hear the bar from our room that night, but it was very quiet! The beer is cheap, the people are friendly, and the room is comfortable! I would go out of my way to stay here again!

My husband and I stayed at the Hickory Creek Hideaway for a week. It had beautiful rooms to stay in and right down the hallways was the bar with many drink options even a store for you to take a case back to your room. You could even order food from the restaurant during open hours and they will deliver your food to your room. Very nice staff I recommend to give it a try.

Great place to stay. Rooms are big, clean and nice. There is a bar and package store in the lodge. Conveniently there is an awesome restaurant right across the street, we stayed for a week and ate every meal there, good stuff! The staff is very friendly and the hospitality was top notch. I highly recommend to anybody and will definitely stay there again.

I had an amazing time on a hunt for whitetail deer I stayed for 7 nights. The facility was clean rooms were big. There is a bar at the lodge and a restaurant across the street. The staff and people in the town were amazing and welcoming. I will stay hear again

Love this place. Billybob and Nina are the owners of this establishment and are amazing folks. If your in the area stop by and have a drink, gamble a little and relax.
