I have thick, wavy hair in a short, pixie-inspired cut — it requires technique and artistry to maintain well, and it’s easy to go awry. Sondra won me over several years ago. I get an excellent cut every time and now that I’ve moved out of the neighborhood I come back to Grove and Sondra. The working culture and environment is intentional and healthy, which contributes to me feeling well taken care of by the whole salon.

When my hairstylist moved out of state a few years back, I decided to give Grove a try and I'm so glad I did. I love the atmosphere and every haircut and highlight has been great. I just went back for the first time since COVID and I felt completely safe. The layout of the salon allows everyone to have plenty of space and the high ceilings offer great air circulation. The staff and stylists are also diligent about pre-screening clients, mask wearing, and sanitizing. I even got a my highlights done outside on the deck which was lovely! It's so good to be back in this welcoming (and safe!) environment. Thanks Grove!

I randomly walked in to buy shampoo and had the most genuine and sweet interaction with the receptionist (and hate myself for not remembering her name). So I thought I’d give the salon a shot. One haircut and a color treatment later, I’m here to stay. My stylist’s name is Sondra and she is phenomenal - insightful, talented, and very attentive. So lucky to have walked in and highly recommend the salon!

Love the new hair salon on Solano. Friendly service, beautiful salon with great ambience. Love the outdoor deck. Christina ,the owner, has been doing my hair for years and I am very happy she has opened her own place. Every time I go I love my hair cut, she never disappoints. I get stopped in the street people asking me where I get my hair done. I can highly recommend her and the new salon.

Gorgeous salon with great service! The stylists really take the time to help figure out what would look best on you given your hair texture, volume, etc. I had Chase cut my hair and it was exactly what I wanted!! A very fun and professional environment with great hair care products to buy as well! So excited for my next appointment!

It took a couple of years after moving to the east bay to find a stylist and salon that I was happy with. Karen at Grove is fantastic with both her technique and product knowledge. The salon is both comfortable and modern. I have been a client for over a year now, and I am staying.
