The property is beautiful, even in the winter with no snow. We had great views of the Mississippi river and my wife and I enjoyed the break away from society. It was wonderful to listen to the wildlife. There were so many stars out during the cloudless nights as well - and the quiet was wonderful. It was broken every 40 minutes or so with the rumble of a train passing by, which we also enjoyed hearing. The breakfasts were served in room and were amazing as well. Galena was less than 15 minutes away, so getting to town was easy enough.

Wonderful, relaxing stay. The room was comfortable. There was classical music playing when we arrived and fresh flowers on the table. Breakfast was delivered to our door and was amazing! The staff was friendly and so helpful. We will definitely be back!

Checked into the Goldmoor solo to treat myself for my 60th birthday. So worth it! A friend sent bubbly and chocolate covered strawberries to greet me in my room. Stayed in the Veranda Suite and enjoyed the fireplace, jacuzzi and sleeping with a view of the stars. Loved the breakfast delivered to the room each morning, along with the daily cookies. My family met me for dinner one night at the in-house restaurant, Edge by Goldmoor Inn. We sampled every starter, every dessert, and half of the entrees. Heather our server was amazing, and the food was beyond delicious. Highly recommend the shared table experience short rib & lamb lasagna entree. The garlic bread was divine. Now I want to celebrate many more birthdays at The Goldmoor!

As always, another wonderful stay at the Goldmoor Inn. We stayed in the French Country Cottage which has all the comforts and privacy of your own home. Being the weather was quite cold, the cozy fireplace made it so much better. Just relaxing with our fresh brewed coffee to the gourmet breakfast which was delivered to our room. The sunset views over the backwaters of the Mississippi River in the distance, are breathtaking. Dinner at the Inns restaurant, "The Edge" was excellent from the presentation to being very delicious. (Chef Brandon is outstanding!) We each enjoyed the beef wellington and shared a bountiful salad! And, the desserts are scrumptious. I would highly recommend the Goldmoor if your planning a visit to Galena. The innkeepers, Slobo & Birgit are wonderful people as well as their entire staff.

Wonderful, luxurious, relaxing getaway for my husband and I. Galena is delightful & the Goldmoor was spotless & they had so many thoughtful touches. The morning breakfasts & afternoon cookies were scrumptious. Truly a top-notch place 🙂 We will be back!

Everything about the Goldmoor is the best of the best! Overlooking the Mississippi, our suite had every in room amenity we look for - space for everything, a kitchenette with ice and good coffee service, whirlpool tub with a view of the river and sunset, and a table for two for the room service breakfast in the morning or playing cards, BIG screen TV, fireplace, heated towel rack and lots of towels. There is a lovely screened in porch for when the weather warms up and an outstanding restaurant. All the staff is friendly and attentive. We will be returning!

5 Stars all around! Dinner & drinks are unbeatable! Most hospitable location I’ve ever been to. All the rooms here are the most pleasant experience ever! The owners are so welcoming and treat you like the most important person they’ve ever had to stay.
