Disappointment is an understatement, I RARELY write bad reviews because I think it can be distasteful, however, I think every BRIDE should be aware if considering using this salon. I reached out over a year in advance to Gloss due to it's proximity to our big day and after reading these Google reviews. I wanted to get my hair and make-up done for my engagement pictures to see how things went before committing. I do not question that Alex and her salon do good work, that was why I decided to contract them after being content with my engagement pictures. Little did I know, the logistics of my trial would become a nightmare.

Two months before my bridal shower, when the date was finalized and I was made aware of the date, I reached out to Alex at Gloss to get my Trial for the wedding booked. I was very clear from the beginning that I wanted to have my trial the morning of my bridal shower so I can wear that look there, two birds, one stone idea. I gave the exact date and time through email and a delayed response from the salon finally came through which stated they had cleared the schedule for me that morning as requested. This sounded like a confirmation of that appointment.

I went along expecting this to be all set, and since I had not heard from Alex, I reached out 5 days before the shower to verify if I needed to bring anything to my appointment. Not only did I get a reply that said I never confirmed nor do they have any openings to help me get the service done, a bride which she has contracted to do the wedding for, later it was said that it was shame on me I guess for not following back up sooner. my trial was NEVER booked because of two small phrases lost in that email "Let me know" which was rudely pointed out to me and that the stylist has too many clients to consider calling them to confirm if an email response confirming wasn't provided and it was not her responsibility to do so.

The only thing I ever said that was remotely disrespectful was that I thought it was unprofessional to say some thing like that to a client. It was a simple misunderstanding that turned into a bigger, more aggressive chain of emails. Alex ended up not only not doing my trial or my hair/make-up for the bridal shower, but she then said I was disrespectful and CANCELLED ON MY WEDDING DAY, as we were only a MONTH AWAY!!!

To be honest, I am now relieved she did because I definitely did not want that kind of negativity following me into my big day and I found an even better stylist who was actually excited to step in and do our hair/make-up which we were willing to pay over $1,000 for! Talk about giving me serious anxiety during an already stressful time...Also a tip to the salon, INVEST IN AN ONLINE BOOKING PLATFORM, it's 2024, a formal booking system should be standard practice.

JUST MAKING SURE THOSE READING THIS ARE AWARE-MAKE SURE YOU CONFIRM EVERY DETAIL TWICE WITH ALEX!! The phone is rarely answered so most of the communication is through email, confirm and reconfirm as much as possible!
