My experience was not good. I’ve never had a painful manicure before. I came to have a relaxing time for myself and that did not happen.
There was some miscommunication at first which I get that.

Main issue : My nails were trimmed too narrow (which hurt). My cuticles bled at two different times. At this point I should have walked away or ask for someone else to do it but I did not and that’s on me. Filing down my nails hurt, my skin kept getting rubbed into like sandpaper. And the last straw either out of pain or frustration with the tech and myself for not speaking up. When grinding down the acrylic nail my actual nails were ground into. The first few I didn’t realize, it just got really hot and burned but my thumb nail didn’t get so lucky and the grinder got pretty deep down into my actual nail, it hurt really bad I fought back the tears but it was painful. I paid close to 100 dollar for this acrylic/ manicure. After leaving I was just ready to go I realized I didn’t even get the full services I paid for. The lotion massage and hot towels was left out.

I was/ am disappointed in the service and myself for not speaking up at the time. It was anything but relaxing and that’s what I really needed that day to treat myself.

Edited: 2 weeks later, finally got them removed to see the underlying damage, almost all of my nail beds were drilled into. The bleeding at the sides and cuticles have healed. But you can see from some of the nail folds they were cut too narrow down into the sides of my nail bed The nails have grown a small bit but those areas hurt when cut. The deep drilling into my right thumb nail, has scabbed over but that where the tears came from.

I am so happy I found Elegant Nail Spa! I’ve lived in North Pole all my life and we used to go to another salon in North Pole until several very bad experiences back to back. After that we switched to nail salons in Fairbanks, trying most of them. The only issue being the prices constantly change, the wait times can be very long, and we have to drive 20+ minutes each way just for nails. Yesterday I wanted to get them done and saw Elegant Nail Spa, so I took a chance and went in! They said hello as soon as I walked in the door, were able to accommodate a walk in pedicure, and they were all so nice from the moment I walked in. I had my toddler with me and they were all so sweet to her, they even helped me out when I was stuck in the chair and she had a bathroom mishap! I was so impressed with their service, their friendliness and I absolutely LOVE my nails! I never want to go anywhere else!

Treated my wife very rudely right before our wedding day. Despite making their appointment a week in advance, her and her mother still had to wait hours to even get seen after arriving. Its been a single week and her nails are starting to lift and separate, After contacting them, they told us it would cost us even more to fix their mistake, after they already paid almost 300 dollars!

I got a basic pedicure and it was just an amazing experience, I love the environment and how well their customer service is. I also had my 2 month old daughter with me while I was getting it done and they were so kind about it even when she was fussing. They made my “treat yo self” day so much better and I cannot wait to come back! My feet look and feel amazing, their massages are beyond what I’ve gotten from other salons and worth every penny. Trish is who took care of me and she was just so great! Thank you guys again for such a great experience, I really needed it

Super disappointed considering the majority of reviews on here are great. I made an appointment a week and a half ago for 4:15. I got there early and didn’t get seen until almost 6pm. Granted, she said everyone that works there was out of town so it was just her and a guy, but I called hours ahead to make the appointment. I wanted a fresh set of acrylics, I had been getting fills for a couple of months at this point, but she told me I didn’t need it and proceeded to rush through my fill and paint job. She was more concerned with the new guy she was working with and if he liked her or not (I know because that’s all she talked about to me) and kept stopping and flirting and not paying attention AT ALL to what she was doing. I left with my nail polish needing at least another coat if not 2, you could see through it and polish on my fingers. My acrylic was all over the place and missing in others. And I now have 3 broken nails from literally NOTHING. Washing some dishes or grabbing something out of a cabinet. For $75 and only having them on for less than 2 weeks, I’m pretty irritated.

My first time here but everyone is so friendly and welcoming! I wanted a simple springy color for my nails and I wanted them short, Lan did exactly what I asked and I just love them! I will definitely be back.

Update 2022 still my favorite place!!

This place is great! I was expecting a quick soak and paint for my pedicure but instead I got a nice massage on my legs and feet that lasted a while. Not just 5 minutes like most places. It felt great. I will definitely be coming back here again!
