I’ve gotten good hair cuts here, but recently came in 3 days before my schools prom and tried my best to explain what I wanted and showed a picture of a hair cut I got from here the summer before which was when I kept it longer all around. And my barber ended up buzzing and cutting my sides and back the shortest they’ve been in many years. It looked nothing like what I showed it my picture of my previous haircut. They are good people and have done well before, but I’ve never felt worse about my hair with my senior prom a day away. They have a very cute dog there however. Good luck with your hair adventures.

Great if you can get in - they stay booked out ~1 month. Have used all 3 in the past and though I have my regular now they have all been great. Get a haircut and beard trim regularly. They're actually good with a straight razor. I have sensitive skin, a difficult direction of hair growth, and thick hair and they can do a shave without me getting razor bumps which is really saying something.

Got my hair cut at Downtown Ollie's today for the first time. Scott was my barber and he was fantastic. I didn't know what kind of style I was looking for and he helped me figure out what would work and he did a great job at it! Quite possibly one of my favorite hair cuts to date!

The atmosphere of the shop is great and welcoming. You can tell the barbers here excel at their craft. I will be coming back for sure!

UPDATE

It's been a few years since I first posted this review. I've now had my hair cut by the whole crew at Downtown Ollie's: Cameron, Craig, and Michael. All of them are incredible. The atmosphere in the shop is like nothing else I've ever seen in a barbershop - a ton of fun and always a great time getting my haircut there. Easily the best barbershop in central Illinois. I'm going to have a tough time finding a new barbershop that can compare after I leave Illinois!

SECOND UPDATE

I've now been living up near Chicago and can say I still haven't found a barbershop better or even comparable to Downtown Ollie's. Seriously - the barbers here are some of the best possibly in the entire state, and the atmosphere of the shop is the best. Don't skip on Downtown Ollie's!

5 stars all around. Cameron was extremely helpful and patient as I was a first time beard trim client. Other barbers and shop mascot, Luna were quick to greet me, as well. The shop was very well kept and the atmosphere was very nice, too.
Other clients while I was there ranged in age from teens to mature gentlemen, getting haircuts and beard trims.
Prices were very fair.

I've been getting my hair cut by Craig for a few years now. Hands down the best barber I've ever been to. I've only had my hair cut by him, but I've seen the work the other guys do and they are all at the top of their game. Sometimes it's hard to get an appointment, but that just speaks to the quality of their work. They take their time and have an incredible eye for detail. They could probably crank out more cuts than they do, but instead they chose to focus on quality over quantity. Since I've started getting my hair cut here, every other barber I've been to has left me with a lot to be desired. In fact, I just moved to Peoria, and after a couple lackluster experiences with different shops here, I've decided to make the hour drive every 2 weeks to come to Ollie's.
