Made 2 years ago, just updated with description and pictures: I made an appointment and still had to wait to have my hair done, mind you, a girl was in there coughing the walls down the entire time. I booked a blowout and the ”hairstylist” did not know how to do my hair at all and literally just played in my head. The nail lady came over, seen I was unhappy with my service and said the nastiest things about me and my hair in patois like she’s the only person from JA on the planet and no one can understand her. I left with my hair blow dried into a tangled ball of frizz so I had to immediately have it redone that night because I couldn’t even put it in a ponytail or a bonnet. If you have thick, beautiful type 4 natural hair please be warned, this place is not experienced enough for our hair type. There are times when looking at reviews are helpful and others when they are not helpful. I wanted to post a helpful review.

I found Cristal as she was nearby. When I communicated with her about the service I was looking for (sew in) she was very professional.

Let me tell you...if I could give more than 5 stars I would. Cristal was friendly and professional. Did I mention I got an amazing sew in installed in less than 2 hours!!

I have been searching for a quality stylist and I will definitely be back. Her prices are on par with what I am willing to pay and her level of service is excellent.

I don't know where to start! Because my experience was absolutely amazing! First off, the salon was very clean and beautiful! Second, I didn't mention over the phone that I needed a wash and condition, because where I previously went washing and conditioned was included. But she was nice enough to do it for me even though she had a client that was coming! And when I tell you that no one has ever washed and condition my hair like she did., No knots, no tangles! and she was so gentle with my hair. And she did an amazing job with braiding my hair it only took her 45 mins with wash, conditioned, dry and braiding my hair! I have never had an experience like this before! This is a top-notch salon and I recommend!!

Cristal’s Beauty Salon is professional, clean, and well maintained. The stylist takes time to listen to clients and collaborates with the clients to provide quality care. This salon works efficiently and within the allotted time frame. The style of small knotless braids can last for a while and is always done neatly. I highly recommend this salon and will continue using this stylist.

Cristal started my loc journey and I absolutely love my hair! It’s been almost a year now and I don’t let anyone retwist my locs but her. She is always on time and very quick. I’m pleased how my styles turn out’s and the shop’s environment is a vibe! I also book my pedicures with Natoya her nail tech and it’s just an all around wonderful and convenient experience! I definitely recommend Cristal and Natoya’ services!

This was a horrible experience for my daughter, even though she had been there before with no problems! Cristal was insensitive and then refused to do my daughters, because I asked her to not scratch her scalp when washing it! She then claimed I said she braided my daughters hair too tight! What! Why would I bring her back if that was the case! Bottom line she didn’t feel like dealing with a young kid who was a little tender headed. Well, nevermind... we went where else that does a great job and cheaper. Saved $30, thank you for not doing her hair!

Very clean and social distanced salon. Nice size salon. She didn't braid my hair tight and was gentle with my hair which is important to me. I didnt want to chat and she understood my cues. Everyone doesn't want to chat while you do their hair. I'm glad she wasn't one who forced it especially wearing this mask. Lol. I took an Uber from Chicago since I needed to find someone at the last min and I liked her pics on style seat. She did a good job.
