I walked in and waited at the counter for about 5 minutes a woman with long blonde hair came to where I was said hi & asked what I needed, I said,” I’d like to see if anyone is available for a hair cut today.” She then saw two people who I found out later she was calling them her kids, boys or something. Well anyways once she saw them she walked off talked to them ignored me & left me there.
I stood around another 5 minutes until a lady w/ short blonde hair asked me if I had been helped, she found an available stylist named Queen to cut my kids hair for me. Queen came out asked me what we wanted, I said a hair cut & we specified a wolf cut, we showed a picture. She said that will be $45 for the cut. We sat down and she started spraying water to cut my kids hair. I was confused bc normally they wash, cut then blow dry. So I looked at the website, and sure enough all of that was included! I asked her if the website was accurate bc it said, “ all cuts include x,y,z make sure you check it out!
She said NO see the plus sign?! It is up to the stylist to determine pricing which is why the plus sign is there bc it is NOT a set price.
Oh! Okay I said. Totally weird. So she cuts my kids hair barely puts heat on it bc I said so it’s $45 for a cut & she leaves with a wet head? !
Queen accommodated us by barely blowing the hair. It was still wet but not soaking. My kid was annoyed bc her hair was uneven & it was extremely noticeable. I took a photo right after Queen finished.
Another stylist walked by so I asked if they could get the manager. I asked the manager about the website & the pricing. I told her what Queen said. She shook her head and said, No, it IS included & she said she could fix the crooked cut. We let Queen try to fix it bc she walked up in the middle of us talking to the manager. Then the manager walked away and I said, a cut is $45 & the manager said it includes wash and dry.
AND.. of course ALL of the SUDDEN Queen says, “ I never said it was not included!”
Ma’am you are A LIAR! If you didn’t say that then why didn’t you wash her hair, cut it, then blow dry it?! Exactly! Not to mention I pulled up the website & showed her the details!!!
So a seasoned professional took over bc the manager wanted to ensure things went well, & I appreciated the extra steps she took to make sure that we were taken care of.
As my daughter was getting her hair blow dried the lady with the long blonde hair was trying to talk to me but then would start laughing and making faces w/Queen who was standing behind the wall in front of me next to the manager. Queen & the long blonde haired lady would point back & forth at each other to look at their text messages. The lady was sitting right next to me laughing, reading text messages and saying oh , hahaha Queen!
These are supposed to be grown Women but I felt like I was in middle school. It was just Gross! I felt gross after leaving. My kid was so uncomfortable and unhappy!
Belk salon is the only salon I have ever been to that has this type of energy.
I have had wonderful experiences at fantastic Sam’s for $20 something dollars we got a much better wolf cut, shampoo, blow out & great customer service. We also frequent Destin hair studio & the level of care there is exceptional!
To the great stylists there you deserve better.
