I've been told several times now by dental that I just have "pre cavities" and "everybody has them". Strongly advising and discouraging me from getting a referral off base to have them looked at even though I'm in pain. My teeth keep shifting more and more each year and they see no problem giving me the run around for braces I need, some teeth being practically sideways. I had also gone to my PCM for having ongoing blood in my stools and he said "it's normal, but if it happens for the third month in a row we can look into it". Recently, I stopped going to physical therapy when I found out they read off the same list for everyone regardless off pain or injury type. Haven't been called back and leadership never said anything so I suppose they don't communicate missed appointments.

My experiences with the medical team have varied, my current PCM is awesome though.

The Dental Clinic 10/10 just incredible
Pharmacy 8/10 (it's slow but not their fault)
Physical Therapy - 8/10 very knowledgeable team! (Limited appointments, not their fault)

My biggest complaint is they need more manpower 9RW/Big Air Force ?

Kept being told I need to come in for an appt. I made one. They then called me the day prior and cancelled on me because they had to have a training day. I made a follow-up appointment for the same thing they cancelled on me for previously. When I showed up, I was told I actually didn’t need to have come in for an appt and that they just hadn’t updated my status on IMR.
Another time I wanted to get a referral for an appointment off base close to the base or my place of residence. I was told by a nurse that they would not make one for me because it was “a waste of tax payers’ dollars” but that I was free to drive 1.5 hours to the clinic on Travis instead.

Called three times for a referral off base due to the appointments being completely booked out. Each time the lady at the Appointment line greeted me nicely, I told her what I needed and she transferred me to Optometry to get assistance.

The first time the call timed out and the answering system hung up after about 6 minutes of dialing. I called a second time, the lady at appointments answered and greeted me nicely, after I asked to be transferred again she asked me to hold on as the line was busy, about 5 minutes of waiting and she was able to transfer me, where I waited another 6 minutes or so of dialing, until it sounded like someone picked up, and hung up on me.

So I dialed again, and when the nice lady at appointments greeted me again I explained to her that this was my third time calling, and what had happened the first two times I asked to be transferred, so she asked for my information and sent them a message to call me.

I would love to give them a higher rating for the person who did answer the call, as she was wonderful, but because someone couldn't pick up the phone, and I have to wait 3 days for a call back, I would be crazy to.

Optometry, please pick up the phone.

I’ve never been seen on base before yesterday but I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Chou in Family practice. He listened to all my concerns and showed me how to get a refusal done quicker. Highly recommend him if you want your concerns met. He even suggested things that I didn’t even before.
I also want to give a 5 star to Lab, I went to get blood and the ladies in there help a ton keeping my two year old entertained with stickers, lollipop and water. They were superheros for me and I thank them! And the wait was only around 10 mins if that for both seeing Dr. Chou and lab.

I avoid coming here at all costs. Waited for twenty minutes to be put into a back room and forgotten about for nearly an hour. I came in concerned about a sudden vision change and was just thrown some glasses and wished good luck by a doctor that had better things to do than help.

My PCMs regularly deviate from what off base medical doctors recommend me to have done. It seems like the clinics mission is to provide the most minimum care possible to patients. Why not send me to get a referral like the off base doctor recommended? The PAs act like giving a referral comes out of their own pockets!

Wish I could be overpaid to do the absolute bare minimum at my job. But my conscience wouldn't let me anyways.
