I took my son (1.5) here this morning for his first haircut and am highly satisfied!
They have a small area with toys that kids can play with while they wait their turn which I thought was genius!
Hannah J was very patient with him as he wiggled and began to fuss, and managed to give him a great haircut regardless of all of his squirming! She also awarded him a first haircut certificate with a lock of his hair as a keepsake.
My daughter (5) decided she wanted a haircut, too, so Tiffany took great care of her and gave her a nice trim!
We will definitely be coming back and referring others to Barbers and the Salon!

I've given the place a shot several times now on different days of the week and at different times, never have been able to actually get my hair cut. Wait times for service never less than an hour and a half. Cuts are probably at least decent as folks are waiting, but be prepared to spend at least half your day there for it.

I have been here three times now. Every time, there is a long line of people waiting regardless of what time you show up. While it moves, it also seems to make the barbers rush to get as many people through as fast as possible. The last time I was there, I was in the chair for a total of 11 minutes. Since they do not take appointments, the shop is incentivized to do as many haircuts as possible per hour, which obviously reduces the quality, but who really cares since $ is all that matters. Each time I have been, I always end up having to touch up my hair with clippers or scissors almost every day for weeks after a haircut because of how much is missed at the haircut.

The other thing is that you do not get your hair washed as they have no sinks, so loose hair gets into your clothing afterwards. There's also no neck massage like you see at so many contemporary barber shops. While the neck shave is nice, it also usually lasts 20-30 seconds in order to get to the next person and I am concerned that they are in such a hurry that they are going to cut me with the straight razor.

And given that this place rents their shop in an upscale area of Athens, the quality and care definitely does not measure up to the price (plus tip screen).

Lastly, I am not naming names, but the barber who cut my hair most recently spent the entire time talking to the customer waiting near me. While I do not expect a long conversation about my life story, it is usually a good idea to at least acknowledge the customer you are working with/for. It was obvious they could care less about me as a customer. Therefore, I will never return to this place.

Best barbershop in the area, hands-down! I've wore a flat-top for over 30 years. When I moved to Geogia back in 2020, I searched and searched for someone (anyone) who could cut a real, good flat-top. I found him in Matt! Matt has been my barber now for 4 years and I don't plan on changing anytime soon!

Everyone in the shop is super friendly and all of them do a great job (I've had a few others help me out when Matt was out of town). Give them and try and you won't be disappointed!

Dropped in as a walk-in didn't have to wait long before the gentleman took me to the chair. I got a great cut gave them General ideas on how I wanted my haircut. The service was outstanding the cut fantastic. Definitely will return to the shop.

Great place with typically no more than 15 minute wait, if that. Say yes to the free warm neck shave after the cut. It feels great and your neck won't be itchy. I just wish they stayed open a little later.

I came here for a haircut and shave. The barber was super nice, kept a steady conversation, and, to be fair, did a decent job. He then told me it was 47 dollars after I alrwady handed him my credit card. Is that a $25 haircut and $22 shave? ?‍♂️That doesnt make any sense. My roommate literally referred me to this place and told me his haircut was under 20 dollars. I don't know if he thought I wasn't going to tip or something because I'm a student (but he still got $15 because my parents raised me well and I'm not a mean person). All in all, I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed and got scammed by not asking the price first and trusting this guy wouldn't overcharge me due to the family oriented atmosphere. As a matter of principle, I won't be giving these people my business anymore and I suggest you don't support overcharging broke college kids either.

I’m not the type to leave reviews, but this haircut was so bad I have to. WHATEVER you do, don’t go to the chunky guy with black hair who looks special. Took my 8 year old in for a cut. Showed a picture to him. He completely rushed it, was uneven on the back, look nothing like the picture. It legitimately looks horrible, even my 8 year old son doesn’t like it. Don’t go here.
