I have been coming to Ayten for 6-7 years and there is no one else I will ever let touch my hair. I first visited Ayten as I was growing out my relaxed hair. I had experimented with scissors on my own and made a mess. She never made me feel bad about my hair and didn't cut more than I was comfortable with. A trim is always only a trim with Ayten.

I then went back to her multiple times for trims until I decided to shave my head completely. I was so nervous but Ayten made me feel at ease and confident about my decision.

It's been 4 years since I shaved my head and I am on the road back to long hair. I go for trims every few months and Ayten is still fabulous. She knows exactly what to do the moment I sit in the chair. She has the vision I always lack. And the great part is that she can style all kinds of hair. I've seen her do it all: everything from pin straight to crazy curly like mine. It's a pleasure to watch her work and be styled by her.

Her hair washing is also one of the most relaxing things in the world. She's got the hands of an angel. I wish I could give more than 5 stars!

Ayten takes great time and care to ensure that you first and foremost feel comfortable as soon as you arrive to her salon. From there, she'll listen to what you need, ask you thoughtful questions which all helps her to really understand what you want. Its a collaboration with her and its always a great experience. You'll definitely leave with a pep in your step, feeling fully beautiful in yourself, which is Ayten's mission. She's incredible!

How can I piece all of the great qualities about Ayten into one review? There simply isn't enough space. When I first met her, you could tell she was a professional who had many years of experience. She was able to read my apprehension when I first decided to transition my hair after 30+ years of chemical straightening. From the jump, she was honest about the challenges ahead but also encouraged me with ideas on how to manage my hair during this transition. She tirelessly listened to my fears and concerns but encouraged me along the way saying, "It is time for this to happen, you can do this!" During this time, I would sit in her chair not seeing her vision of what the final product would be often fearing I had made a mistake. But after a seemingly long year of anticipation, I left her salon just a couple weeks ago with my brand new curls - feeling a bit strange but sincerely a new sense of empowerment finally seeing what she had seen all along. Had it not been for her attentiveness and sense of humor, I would have backed out a long time ago. Her guidance literally helped me stay the course and I am both grateful and relieved. Living in Northern Manhattan , my selection of stylists was limited to a genre of many salons doing the same thing. It is a luxury to have this type of service in such close proximity. From the moment you walk into the salon you are greeted by a warm and friendly staff. I have seen a diverse array of clientele return to see Ayten- there is no hair type she would turn away. I would highly recommend this salon to anyone.

In a nutshell, the world needs more Ayten Farrell hair stylists!

I have been going to Ayten Farrell Salon for almost 4 years. She is one of the most professional hairstylist I have ever met. She really cares about her clients and more importantly she is a damn good hair dresser. I would encourage anyone to go to her hair salon plus you will not be there for no more than two hours.

I called at 4:30 on Friday for a 6:30pm appointment and they were able to accommodate me. I got there at at 6:34 and my stylist sat down with me at 6:36 to talk about what I wanted done. She was excellent. She listened to my concerns and was so detailed and thorough that I left that shop at 8:45 and felt amazing. I havent had a moment of doubt or regret since. My new haircut is fun and adorable. The atmosphere of the shop was great and in the 2+ hours I was there several regulars came in and out. It was very much a neighborhood spot but I felt very comfortable. I will be found back again.
