I had an incredibly disappointing experience at this salon that I feel others should know about. I came in specifically asking for a loose wave perm, something subtle and manageable, and I even clarified my expectations multiple times with the stylist. My hair was in great condition beforehand—healthy, soft, and well-maintained—so I didn’t think achieving this look would be an issue. However, what I got was nothing close to what I asked for.

The stylist didn’t seem to understand or care about my request. I ended up with a perm that left my hair feeling stringy, uneven, and completely different from what we had discussed. I asked about the products being used and whether they would suit my hair type, but I didn’t get clear answers, which made me uneasy. After the process, my hair didn’t even look professionally done—it was frizzy and far from the soft, natural waves I had envisioned.

To make matters worse, I now have to spend extra time and money on repairing the damage to my hair and finding ways to style it because it’s unmanageable as it is. This experience has been so disheartening, especially since I trusted this salon with my long, healthy hair. I regret choosing this place, and I cannot recommend it to anyone who values attention to detail, communication, or achieving the look they actually asked for.

What made the situation worse was the lack of professionalism in addressing my concerns. When I contacted the salon, the owner initially responded, but then completely ghosted me after that, leaving me without any resolution or follow-up. It’s frustrating and disheartening that no one took the time to make things right or even acknowledge my dissatisfaction after that one response. The dismissive attitude made it clear that they don’t value their clients or stand behind their work.

My twin sister & I have been seeing Chelsey for 7 years! I've recently started doing fashion colour so I have to lift my hair. Through her knowledge & experience she is able to maintain the integrity of my hair so that is stays long. She's always educating herself on the latest trends & newest conventions of hair care. In fact she is so talented other stylists come to her for advice. Also, I never know what I want & she always helps me decide. I love her creativity & passion! I cannot recommend her enough! I do not trust anyone else w/ my hair!!

This was my first time going to Mode Aveda and having my hair done by Kayla! I could not recommend this salon and Kayla more highly. After living in Gainesville for 4+ years, I have tried a few different salons but I never found a stylist that I loved. Today, I can happily say that I LOVE how my hair came out. I came in with no inspiration pictures and an unclear idea of what I wanted but nevertheless, Kayla captured my vision perfectly. She was so friendly and checked in with me throughout the entire time she was coloring/cutting my hair! Additionally, the salon was clean, bright, and trendy. I can’t wait for my next appointment!

Went to Josette and she was amazing!!! Came in as a worn down blonde wanting to go brunette but still keep some dimension and she outdid herself! My hair came out feeling so much healthier and looks gorgeous. The before and after pictures say it all.

This review is a LONG time coming. First, I have been seeing my stylist Chelsey for 7 years. I found her by chance when my hair was ruined at a diff salon. She literally saved my hair. Anyways, when she moved on from her previous salon, I followed her to Aveda and we couldn't be happier. The vibe is modern and fabulous, not to mention the products are amazing. But I really must highlight the service. If you are looking for a talented and professional stylist, this is the place to come. I highly recommend Chelsey, make sure to book in advance as she is in high demand. You should know that I love to lift & tone my hair and add fashion colors, which is hard on your hair regardless. If it weren't for Chelsey's expertise, I doubt I would have the hair that I want and love. I can't say enough great things about this salon. Just go! You'll love it! I always get SO many compliments on my hair!

I am new to the area and researched several salons before settling on Mode. I was looking for a salon that followed excellent COVID protocols in addition to having a good reputation. I found both at Mode. I’ve been twice now and have been impressed both times. The entire staff is friendly, professional, and supportive of one another with frequent consultations between themselves.My stylist, Maelee, does a great job and takes the time to listen and confirm before picking up a pair of scissors. I’ve been happy with my cut and color both times and plan to return every six weeks.

Fidelity is amazing….. she’s honest and will tell what works for you and what’s not suitable for you. Fidelity has done my color and style it several times ….. I have nothing but great things to say about her…..people shouldn’t come with expectations to have someone make you look like a model picture….that’s something not achievable unless you are model from the picture….
