I'd like to preface this by saying I did not have any issue with the stylist's trimming of my daughter's hair. The work that was done was just fine. I think there needs to be a bit more transparency with the pricing when it comes to kids and the services listed in the drop-down menu.
I originally brought my daughter to this salon back in September for a trim. She did not get her hair washed or styled or anything, just a trim. The cost was $25 which was fine with me. I brought her back to the same stylist in December for the same service. When I went to book the appointment online I initially was going to have them wash her hair and blow-dry it, but when I noticed the cost was $60 (I chose long hair since her hair is to the middle of her back) I couldn't see paying that for a wash and a trim, so I selected a different service that was less expensive and put a note that there was not an option in the drop down for just a trim without shampoo and blow drying. The total time of the service itself took about 12-15 mins. max. to trim her hair, no styling, no extras. When I went to pay I was initially told $25, then the stylist asked the age of my daughter and I said she is 13. The stylist then told me she would have to charge me for a woman's cut and it would be $45. I paid it and wasn't going to make a big deal about it. I did specifically book this appointment noting I did not want to pay $60 for a trim and shampoo and a blow-dry, and considering a few months back I was charged $25 for the same service I was a bit taken aback. To see that a shampoo and a blow-dry alone is $41 and would take longer than my daughter's 13 min hair trim just seems that maybe the pricing for that service is off, or at least should be more clear in your drop down. Like I said, there's no option for just a trim with no extras and had I known it was going to be $45 I most certainly would not have booked it.

Staci did my hair! First time client at this salon and I went in asking for a cute layered cut with highlights! My hair turned out beautiful and I can’t wait to book my next appointment! Definitely recommend this salon! Everyone was so nice & welcoming. Staci was quick, steady with her hands, and she made me feel comfortable and relaxed the entire time. I will be referring all of my friends and family to go here!

Since moving to Lakeland, I hadn’t found a good, go-to hair place. And this was after years, I looked up places to try out and thankfully found Esquire!

I’ve gone to Denise a couple times now and she is just the absolute best. Honestly, I need to get my hair cut more than I do, and even though it had been forever since the last time I went in, she still remembered me immediately.

She’s also so good about confirming how much hair you want cut. I feel like a lot of places you’ll say how much you want trimmed or cut and then end up with much shorter hair than you wanted. But Denise is very careful to double check how much you want off and make sure it’s what you want after she works on it, and continually ask.

During Christmas season she’ll even hand out cute little gifts. It’s a whole experience going here and I love it! They also are pretty reasonably priced especially because some salons can be so spendy. Definitely recommend!

I was able to get a convenient time for an appointment the same week. Alexis did a great job on my updo. She carefully listened to what I needed and did exactly that. She did an amazing job, my hair stayed intact for the whole night of the event.
I will sure be back.

Jennifer Ferguson is amazing! Im in Lakeland on vacation for a couple weeks and didn’t have time to have my girl in Michigan touch up my roots before we left. I made an appointment with Jennifer and she did an incredible job-no grey at all and she was very careful to not get dye on my skin. I will definitely be back and have been talking about her scalp massage/shampoo all day to everyone! Would even consider having her just wash and style my hair every few days haha

The people here couldn't be nicer. I went through a hair transformation coloring and chopping off my hair while being nervous and picky,... everyone was supportive, welcoming and worked with me to make sure I left happy. I look forward to coming back keeping up with my new doo, thanks again!

This is such a long, overdue review but so necessary: I absolutely love my hair stylist Josh. He was incredibly talented and sweet. I’ve had my hair styled and colored before, but Josh’s sincerity and effort won me over. I have never stepped out of a salon feeling so comfortable and heard before coming here. Esquire is a hidden gem in Polk County. Try it out! You won’t be disappointed.
